Writers Strike is Over According to Ex-Disney Exec

The WGA writers strike is over and has ended

In an interview on CNBC's "Fast Talk," ex-Disney CEO Michael Eisner said the writers strike is over but was noted "to hesitate initially about whether it was possible that the writers could still reject the agreement," yet finally suggesting the acceptance of the deal was inevitable.

"A deal has been made, and they'll be back to work very soon," Eisner said, adding, "I know a deal's been made. I know it's over."

Eisner did not elaborate on terms of the agreement. He said he expects most of the media companies affected by the strike to have "small" write-downs as a result of the deal. Eisner said the deal was struck last Friday. [CNBC]

But Valleywag says this is all coming from the Fantasyland: "Not so, say our Hollywood sources. The strike will be over soon, they predict, but it's not done yet." Is this idea coming from the same factory that produced another underwhelming Disney investment?

The photo says it all. Nice one.

Since when does Eisner run Hollywood anyway?

Rumours are afloat. The deal was made in Club 33!

Michael Eisner isn't with The Walt Disney Company anymore. Bob Iger is the current CEO.

According to the WGA, no deal has been made. "That's just him, he's not a member of the guild," a spokesperson said about Eisner.

As always, rely on Eisner to stick his irrelevant oar in.

No one was striking at Warner Brothers because everyone was at the mass rally at Disney.

The strike could very well be over this weekend, but it could also go on longer. The only thing we know for sure is that there is a deal on the table that the WGA is going to present to its members tomorrow night.
