After the awful Fred Claus, Vince Vaughn owes us some laughs and Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland might be just the ticket. It follows Vaughn and four hand-picked comedians as they cross the country to play an exhausting 30 shows in 30 nights. There are a bevy of on-stage celebrity cameos and Vaughn never lets his out-sized persona overwhelm everyone else...mostly.

Considering the unwelcome success that How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days enjoyed, it was only a matter of time before Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey reunited on-screen. The film they chose is Fool's Gold where they play, respectively, Tess and Finn Finnegan. Yes, McConaughey's character is named Finn Finnegan. That tells me all I need to know. Alexis Dziena is awfully cute, but I must say, "Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!"

There are many miracles in this world and few are more amazing than the flourishing career of Martin Lawrence. I was pretty sure he was done ten years ago when he went nuts and ran around Ventura Boulevard waving a pistol. And yet...he persists. His latest is Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, a hilarious tale about a talk-show host who returns home to his Deep South roots. And by "hilarious", of course, I mean "not hilarious."

I hate that I missed In Bruges at Sundance. It was near the top of my list, but I could never make it to a screening. Brendan Gleeson is always great; Colin Farrell is terribly underestimated as an actor and Martin McDonagh may be the best playwright on the planet right now. A funny, violent English film? Yes, please!

Spiral, reviewed today on LAist, is the definition of what an independent film should be: a unique passion project made on the cheap. Joel David Moore is effectively creepy as the film's star and Chuck's sunny Zach Levy will surprise everyone with his suave dick-ishness. More Tricia Helfer, though, Hollywood!

Because it failed to meet the Academy's complex requirements for consideration as a Best Foreign Film entrant, The Band's Visit was excluded from this year's Oscars. Word is, though, that this Israeli film is one of the year's finer pics. It follows an Egyptian band as they travel to Israel to play a concert. Complications ensue.

After a few years on the festival circuit, Military Intelligence and You is finally getting a theatrical release. It's a spoof of all those old Army training videos and stars Patrick Muldoon. Muldoon gets eternal credit from me for his great turn in the overlooked masterpiece Starship Troopers so I'll definitely be checking this one out.

In The Hottie and the Nottie, Paris Hilton portrays an aged Hungarian witch who delights in raping special-needs children and spouting hateful, racist rhetoric. She eventually gets her comeuppance when a young boy, last of a tribe of powerful mages, digs her eyes and ovaries out with a dull spoon and eats them. America celebrates.
