Weird Los Angeles: Parade Of the Damned

Santa Clarita BigfootThe Santa Clarita Valley region has always been rumoured to have been inhabited by Bigfoot, but what was encountered in the Fall of 1974 was bizarre to say the least, and unlike any typical Bigfoot sighting.

Several teenage boys had experiences they would never forget.

In October two teenagers in the area observed a tall, muscular creature covered in hair which was carrying a dead pig through the undergrowth. Although they were naturally shocked to see such a humanoid, they were confused even more by the fact that the creature was wearing what appeared to be a glowing blue belt around its waste.

One month later also in the region, three young boys entered the valley and suddenly heard a strange, buzzing noise. Expecting a motorcyle to come into view at any second, they were startled to see a horde of terrifying animals instead. The procession of oddities that rounded the bend were all man-sized and hair-covered, but had dog-like heads and all appeared to be grinning in sinister fashion. The witnesses also noticed that not far in the distance behind the creatures appeared strange lights, to suggest another parade of beasts was approaching.

Folkloric evidence also mentions that during the 1960s in the valley, other similar creatures were noted and also said to have been wearing glowing belts. Were such monsters related to the sightings of UFOs in the area, or is there an even more complex or absurd answer?
