Student composers take center stage in this annual "New Music for the Orchestra" concert by the USC Thornton Symphony. Who knows…could the next classical wunderkind (a la Dudamel) be waiting in the wings at USC?

FILM (Option 2)
An advance screening of Chicago 10, directed by Brett Morgen, plays at the Hammer tonight. He combines news and archival footage to follow the eight men arrested during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. Where there are gaps in the storyline – including a farcical trial – Morgen inserts animation, featuring the voices of Mark Ruffalo, Hank Azaria and Tom Hayden (Yes, that Tom Hayden, who was one of the eight men arrested at the convention.)
