Some think that these busway accidents are caused by scofflaws. Not so. Data taken from the red light cams used there tell that for some reason - probably the very complex double and triple intersection design - the (mostly older) motorists who run the busway lights are an average of 9 seconds late. Compared to the average at more conventional intersections in two other locales - one-half second. maybe if people driving their cars actually obeyed traffic laws and didn't try to drive around crossing gates there wouldn't be accidents?

Need to confirm this, but I once heard someone throw around the number 700 or so when speaking about the number of Blue Line incidents.

This is one of the most dangerous lines in LA. That bus is a death trap.
