Wow, then I'm sure glad I never wrote that "I hate Yelp" article.

Do you think some of their users would write me some breakfast reviews, tho?

I like writing one-line Yelp reviews like "This place rocks because they have veggie dogs, 5 stars!"

I've done the Yelp as well and I agree with the above commenters. Who is to say that the next Jonathan Gold isn't warming up as a Yelper. Truly good food / restaurant / bar reviewers are few and far between. Generalizations are cheap. And the taco truck on Alvarado is priceless.

Hi am a a Yelper. I have fun while I eat and the places that suck get some too. That is the purpose of Yelp, like at any reasonable gathering of folks to share the good times and warn your friends about the bad.

Zagat is for old people.

The Yelp hate is, I suppose, a long time coming. Being a Yelper, I prefer to Yelp places that are independently owned. That being said, Yelp is, at its core, a public forum existing for the purpose of allowing folks an outlet for expression. This isn't the NY Times food column so don't take it so freakin' serious.
