SUPER TUESDAY DRINKS WITH LAist
It’s Super Tuesday and Mardi Gras. What other reason do you need to celebrate with LAist? Come to Seven Grand tonight to watch election returns. (Who knew that primaries would be this exciting?) You never know…people may start flashing for beads after a few Glenlivets. For questions or to RSVP: events@laist.com (Note: Seven Grand is a 21+ bar. We apologize for any inconveniences).

7-9 pm // Seven Grand // 515 W 7th St., Los Angeles // Depends on how much you drink.

EATING FOR A CAUSE
The California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena is serving up a tasting menu of interpretations of traditional Cajun favorites. Proceeds from lunches and dinners will benefit Hurricane Katrina victims through the Crescent City Farmers Market in New Orleans. This is a good excuse to gorge without the guilt. (Reservations highly recommended for this event.)

11:30 am-1:30 pm for lunch and 5:30-8:30 pm for dinner // 561 Restaurant @ California School of Culinary Arts // 561 E. Green St., Pasadena // $45 for lunch, with $25 for wine pairings; $65 for dinner with a $35 wine pairing.

DRINKS WITH A PURPOSE
The Redwood Bar
is having a Mardi Gras party tonight to benefit the Make It Right Project, which aims to build 150 environmentally friendly and functional homes to New Orleans’s Lower Ninth Ward. There’s live music with Deacon Jones and the Blues All Stars, drink specials and a buffet that includes gumbo and jambalaya. This event is 21 and older.

4 pm to 2 am // Redwood Bar // 316 W. 2nd St., Los Angeles // $10 cover.

TRAFFIC TALK
Metro’s holding public meetings to discuss the feedback received on traffic alternatives in a 38-square-mile study area that stretches from K-town to Santa Monica. Learn how they plan to make the ride from Brentwood to Hancock Park easier. Or not. There’s free parking available – or take Metro lines 20, 720 or 920.

6 pm // Westwood Presbyterian Church // 10822 Wilshire Blvd. (at Malcolm Ave), Los Angeles // Free.

FILM
The Ambassador Hotel had a lot of history – “had” being the operative word. Tonight the Silent Movie Theatre screens the noir-ish The Decay of Fiction, which is Pat O’Neill’s experimental film set at the ruins of the now-demolished hotel.

8 pm // Silent Movie Theatre // 611 N.Fairfax Ave., Los Angeles // $10.

***More items just added after the jump.

MARDI GRAS
The LA Farmers Market is holding its own mini Mardi Gras tonight with live music by Eddie Baytos and the Nervis Brothers. They're giving away beads...and there's always the Gumbo Pot for your dining pleasure.

6-8 pm // West Patio @ the LA Farmers Market // 6333 W. Third St., Los Angeles // Price varies.

COMEDY
The Whip It Out Comedy site is hosting the "Sexaholik Comedy Night" tonight. It "teams adult entertainment's hottest ladies with the country's funniest and most outrageous comedians in a night filled with sexy women, big laughs, special giveaways, and more 'surprises.' The show culminates with a fan favorite "Inside The Porn Actor's Studio" segment in which the comedians (and lucky audience members) interview a porn star about what life is really like as an adult entertainment star."

10 pm // Hollywood Improv // 8162 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles // Free tix if available on the site.

So excited for the LAist Super Tuesday Election Party tonight!

is it true that the first 75 people with 'i voted' stickers get a free call drink at this event? I read that over at caroline on crack and don't see any mention of it on the host site...
