Everyone know the great Griddle, but another worth the hype option: John O'Groats near Westside Pavillion. Those biscuits are e-mazing.

The cookshack in san marino, the raymond in pasadena for brunch, Nick's on Pico for something basic, anywhere with good chorizo con huevos and oh, the pantry (duh) and I hate to say it but Marston's used to be a lot better

When I want pancakes, there's not much that can beat Marston's (in Pasadena) 7 grain pancakes with strawberries and bananas and maple syrup. I'm also partial to the seasonal pumpkin pancakes at Jinky's in Santa Monica, but driving to Santa Monica from Pasadena on a weekend morning takes more effort than I am generally willing to expend.

Tiara Cafe off of 9th and Main downtown. Their version of eggs benedict "the poachers" is to die for. 2 poached eggs on a piece of brioche, with the best hash browns in town and top-quality prosciutto with just the right amount of hollandaise. Yum!

I don't know if brunch counts but Hamburger Mary's has tasty, strong mimosas for $1 on Sat & Sun. And my man loves their $3 bloody mary's. And they're french toast is pretty good too. Yahairha's in Pasadena is our top pick for breakfast when out there.
