LAst Night's Action: Where's Everybody Going?

Surprise performance.Clippers 95, Hawks 88 - The Clips got an unexpected performance from rookie Al Thornton, who exploded for a career high 33 points the day after a major stomach virus. Los Angeles fielded their 20th different starting lineup of the year, and are currently missing Chris Kaman and Corey Maggette. Next up, a seven game road trip. That's not so bad -- the Lakers have a 9 game trip lined up.

Wild 5, Ducks 1 - The Lakers aren't the only local team starting the longest road trip in franchise history. Anaheim is out for 8 games over 15 days, and this was not an auspicious beginning. Jean-Sebastien Giguere was yanked in the second period after allowing three goals in just 11 shots. The team is now on a four game losing streak and has only scored five goals in that span ... Teemu Selanne did not dress, but is back with the team after considering retirement.

Elsewhere - Just as Yahoo! heads towards major layoffs, their sports division is kicking everybody's ass ... Maradona apologizes for Hand of God, regrets cocaine ... Maybe cocaine was this guy's inspiration.

Today's Action - Lakers @ Detroit (4:30pm) ... Arizona State @ UCLA (7:30p) ... Arizona @ USC (7:30) ... Kings @ New York Islanders (4:00pm).

yeah... hand of God... But everybody forgets that the next world cup in 1990 we got screwed by the mexican referee in the finals against Germany (again) when he called a penalty that the 6 billion people that saw it on tv disagreed with. He (the referee) later on admited making a mistake... Yeah... right... FIFA only wants Brasil to win two world cups in a a row...
