Giuliani AND Schwarzenegger to Endorse McCain Today?

Schwarzenegger to Endorse McCain?

Our crack political team is projecting "reason to believe" that both Rudy Giuliani and Gov. Schwarzenegger will endorse John McCain for the Republican nomination very soon.

We've sorted through various flight plans and itineraries, deciphered a number of "no comments" and left several voice messages on Wolf Blitzer's cell.

Schwarzenegger will endorse "within days," Sen. Lindsay Graham told reporters before McCain took off for Burbank this morning. It's unclear whether that means today, or if they'll hold Arnie back until the weekend, when he could throw his face behind McCain on the Sunday talk shows two days before before 24 states go to the polls.

We already know that the Republican debate begins at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley at 5 p.m. Bush is here, but not likely to venture beyond the South Bay / LAX area, where he chatted with Schwarzenegger, talked up trade with our "good friends" in Colombia, and laughed off our economic perils for the press (the fed just cut interest rates by another 1/2 point).

It's become clear ever since Giuliani delivered much of his concession speech in the past tense last night in Florida that he'll make the trip to California, but only to officially drop out and endorse McCain.

The love between Johnny-Mac and the Governator is nothing new. Maria Shriver once said "I doubt I'll be speaking to him again in the future," referring to McCain... but that was in 1999. McCain has since worked with Ted Kennedy, however, on a comprehensive immigration reform bill that won't likely pass through Congress during the current administration.

What do you think? Will we get 3-way bear hug? Will Maria show up? Is Schwarzenegger going to back McCain all the way?
