The Hollow Trees: You, Your Kids, This Morning

The Hollow TreesHere at LAist, we really love local folk music, especially The Hollow Trees. In fact, we love them so much that we've interviewed them three times: a little over a year ago, then in May about Stagecoach (the roots version of Coachella) and this last December. We'll spare any in depth analysis this morning, but will just say if you're looking for things to do late this morning, whether your a parent or babysitting some little rascals, they could be your saving grace.

Square dance players, Triple Chicken Foot will open at 11:00 a.m. at The Echoplex, followed by The Hollow Trees at 11:45 p.m. Mention "Offsprung" (as in Offsprung.com) at the door for a discount (details on the show here).

"Hootenanny" -- The Hollow Trees

"Sandy River Bells" -- Triple Chicken Foot

And if you like this music, we highly recommend you tune in to Twang (country music before 1980) this morning at 10:00 a.m. on Arts & Roots Radio, KCSN 88.5 FM in the Valley. Other folk programs on the Cal State Northridge radio station are Bluegrass, Etc. and Tangled Roots, which both air on Sundays.
