Dear Daily News, you bury your excellent stories, columnists and blogs on your website, you let The Signal kick your ass in Santa Clarita and you think a few drops of rain is breaking news.
Whisky Tango Foxtrot, dudes.
Government offices being closed today is not breaking news; it happens every year, as planned. Drizzle is news of the hour or a weather update, not breaking. Unless the Oscars are canceled, you announcing that tomorrow they will make an announcement is not breaking. Maybe it will be breaking tomorrow, but not really, we knew it was coming.
You have some great writers and you cover important stories that don't get covered. It's time to really invest in that website because it still is terrible. We're glad you're doing a survey, again, to better the site. Good luck and we'll gladly take that $1000 prize. xoxo.

Far be it for me to enter the fray between Daily Newz vs. "The Downtown Bloggers"...but I just have to say something on this...
Why aren't you off finding out something new and fresh about Los Angeles instead of picking apart a conventional newspaper's website?
It seems that more often these days, LAist is just a re-hash of whatever has already been reported by the conventional news. There are multiple postings about various crimes, shootings, awful business, etc...that seem to have been lifted from either cbs2 news or LA Times Homocide Blog.
What happened to the Neighborhood Project?
Just as an aside, this:
"Whisky Tango Foxtrot, dudes."
made my week and it's only Monday.
Thanks Zach, I may have to "borrow" it.
Actually, I'm a Valley blogger and I love the Daily News. it's a media observation and comment. And crime reporting is a nuts and bolts part of capturing the city. Neighborhood Project is still here, don't you worry.
At least there's no breaking news about Britney.
Hey Zach, where's the breaking news about Kiefer?
this be it tera

"Whisky Tango Foxtrot, dudes." - like it also
What is "Breaking News" seems like a popular question. There is even a website that seems to be set up for that debate - www.BreakingNewsOrNot.com
