LAist: Coachella '08 Lineup Announced

Hey guys has anybody any idea who is behind the Coachella track? I think its called "Shes gone to Coachella". I was told it was Daft punk? But apparently it is gonna be big? Any idea? You can see it on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILMMfFRAtyw Any help would be appreciated. J

the diversity of the musical acts is what made coachella great last year. ... now it's just a bunch of overrated van bands.

There's some interesting smaller bands but big yawn to all three headliners. Waters has been flogging Dark Side for the last three years. Jack Johnson was a pleasant enough diversion in between Sonic Youth & White Stripes at the 2003 festival but headlining? Should I care about Portishead when I didn't fifteen years ago? And while there's a moderately good selection all three days, not nearly enough to get me to cough up big dough and endure complete lack of creature comforts. I'll pay fifteen bucks for each of six bands when they hit the Echo, how bout that?

They probably could have added two dozen more hot indie acts for the price of one Johnson, but, always remember, many of your fave Coachella acts are bound to hit LA either before or after the fest to play a more intimate gig. Saturday looks like a worthwhile day trip tho.

samkin that's exactly what i was thinking. I will probably make it out there for Saturday's show but the rest of the days just don't have a strong enough line-up in my opinion.
