That's One Sexy Jaguar!

I never liked the word "cougar" to refer to sexy middle-aged women because it has such a predatory connotation. But because of its usefulness, I have let go of my distaste and accepted it.

Now Retirement Living TV has a new show called Another Chance for Romance that hooks up sexy seniors. It made me realize that we need a new word for sexy seniors. We already have the name "silver fox" for gentlemen - now we need a word for the ladies. I have taken it upon myself to come up with the slang word to fill this need. It's not really a neologism, since it would be a word already in use.

First I considered Cheetah. I decided it sounded too much like cheater, and leopard sounded too much like leper. Panther is cool, but is already used in the political arena, as the Gray Panthers. Finally I have settled on Jaguar. It is sleek and sexy. Even though it retains a predatory aspect, it denotes a classiness I admire in these women.
