Suzanne Pleshette, Rest In Peace
We're sad to learn that actress Suzanne Pleshette has died in Los Angeles from lung cancer at age 70. Although she appeared in film very early in her career in such high profile projects as Jerry Lewis' The Geisha Boy and Hitchcock's The Birds, the vast majority of her time was spent in television.
She's best known for her role as Bob Newhart's wife, Emily Hartley, in "The Bob Newhart Show" from 1972-1977 but she seems to have made at least one appearance in every TV show from 1970 to 1990: "Love American Style", "The F.B.I.", "Gunsmoke", "Marcus Welby M.D.", "Columbo", "Ironside", "Bonanza", "Kojak", etc. so you have a high probability of seeing her anytime you tune into TV Land. In the last few years she made appearances on "Will & Grace" and "8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter".
Always beautiful, charming, and hilarious, she will be missed especially by fans of the '70s Golden Age of TV.

This January has been the dyingest month ever!
I will always love Suzanne for the the amazing ending of the Newhart show.

As an extra and studio kid, I had the pleasure of working with her a few of times. She was ribald and hilarious, in addition to being gorgeous. And that voice! A real professional who deserves all the accolades.

One of the best TV series finale moments ever was when Bob Newhart ended his "Newhart" series by waking up in bed with Suzanne Pleshette...(ha, Elise, I just saw that you wrote that too, oh well!) and I loved her as Megan Mullally's scheming mom on "Will & Grace."
