The plastic bag ban only applies to large grocery retailers, other places you can still get plastic bags -- also, there are actually bio-degradable doggy bags: http://www.bizrate.com/dogsupplies/products__keyword--doggie+bags.html for just a few options (also, if you have a small dog, you can just use paper napkins from takeout places, etc.)

first of all, thank you for even picking up the dog poop to begin with, i wish more people around my neighborhood were like you. use plastic bags for now, but why not use small paper bags (lunch size) as well?
