LAst Night's Action: Good News All Around

Parents, do NOT let your kids play hockey.Clippers 97, Suns 90 - LA picked up their second win in the past 12 games and snapped a 4 game losing streak on the back of Sam Cassell, who scored 32 ... In their previous three meetings, Phoenix won by an average of 15 ... The Clippers are the lowest-scoring team in the NBA (92.6 points per game) while the Suns are the highest (110.3 ppg).

Ducks 4, Stars 2 - Scott Niedermayer notched a goal and two assists, leading Anaheim to their fourth win in a row. Since he rejoined the team (taking off about 30 games to contemplate retirement), the Ducks are 10-2-2.

Kings 3, Oilers 1 - The Kings have cobbled together a three game winning streak, but still own the worst record in the NHL. Jason LaBarbera had 32 saves in the victory over Edmonton, and benefited from a quick start where the Kings out-shot the Oilers 13-3 in the first period. We had to run the skate-to-the-face photo (right), but were tempted to use this one instead.

Lakers Notes - With a seven game winning streak and the best record in the West, the Lake Show managed to top a power ranking this week. It'll be a struggle to stay on top without the presence of Andrew Bynum. The center was just starting to blossom when he was sidelined with a knee injury (LAist welcomes aboard Lara Hermanson). Could we see Chris Webber don the purple and gold?

Elsewhere - Soccer development is changing in the U.S., and creating problems for local high school programs ... WAC to teams: Watch your language ... Norm Chow fired. UCLA and USC message boards are abuzz ... 17 year old tennis player's boobs causing a stir. Sports by Brooks is on the case ... Green Bay fans stink, but at least they have a good reason.

Today's Action - Zilch.
