I'm in the financial industry, this is a requirement for me as well. I saw one officer on the news say "You know, if I was a crooked cop, you think I was use my real name and regular account numbers anyways?" True...and he probably was dirty...and good call on giving the other crooked cops pointers.

Investment counselors already have to do this as a result of the Enron scandel. I don't see what the big deal is IF you have nothing to hide...
