Bynum Out 8 Weeks With Kobe's Positive Attitude

You can halt production on that purple and gold 2008 NBA Champions afghan you’ve been crocheting so diligently -- Lakers center Andrew Bynum is going to be out for the next 8 weeks. Bynum suffered a dislocated kneecap and a bone bruise courtesy of Lamar Odom’s big ass foot during the Laker’s victory over Memphis on Sunday. The good news is that the injury will not require surgery and the 20 year old big man is expected to recover fully.

His injury certainly puts a damper on the Lakers ascension to the top spot in the Western conference as of this morning -- a top spot they will hold for a depressingly short time as they go up against Steve Nash and the rest of his vampire friends in Phoenix on Thursday. The following week won’t get much easier for them as they embark on a road trip that takes them through San Antonio and Dallas.

On the bright side, Kobe finally seems to have warmed to the young Bynum, one of the many sources of mental anguish that Bryant has been forced to suffer this past two years. As told to the LA Times after last night’s game, “We're a championship-caliber team with him [Bynum] in the lineup.” The fetchingly coiffed Ronny Turiaf will be holding down the fort in Bynum’s hopefully speedy absence.

I'm pretty sure Kwame "Butterfingers" Brown is going to be the starting center in place of Bynum.

Kwame can't post or make a damn freethrow if his life depended on it. Vote Ronny for Feb. 08'. Oh wait...
