It's the biggest dance club night in Los Angeles over at The Vanguard and tonight is a special one -- GIANT is having its eighth-anniversary party. Join Steve Aoki, Glycerin and others along it 1500 clubbers. Metromix has the low down.

And speaking of anniversaries, the monthly Dragstrip 66 at Safari Sam's is celebrating its Quinceanera! 15 years ago, January, L.A.'s queer/mixed underground have been eagerly descending upon the club night every second saturday of the month for an evening of messy drag & trashy rock and roll.

While not playing where you think they should be when you hear their name, The Echo Park Project will be over at The Granada tonight in Alhambra. The latin jazz band's intention is to "pay tribute to the 70s era and the music that filled the streets of New York back then."

As mentioned in this column yesterday, the most excellent blues man Eric Sardinas will hit up Cozy's in Sherman Oaks.

Sticking to the Valley for a second, expect some weirdness with the ethereal indie rock band, Biblical Proof of UFOs, from Cleveland at The Scene in Glendale. Headlining will be The Bourbon Saints, self-described as a "full throttle, balls out, screwed, blued and tattooed, Rock ‘N’ Roll." We concur.

Toning it down a bit, folk rock singer/songwriter Minnie Driver plays over at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. Her name may sound familiar, that's because she's also an Oscar/Emmy/Golden Globe nominated actor. Following Driver is Coby Brown & The 11:11's, who are definitely worth checking out if you're feeling like hearing something good and chill.

For something of a more worldly taste, head over to The Roxy in WeHo for reggae/afro-beatster Rocky Dawuni and the Revolution Project. Also, the ever so popular rock-reggae dub band, Iration, will be there along with the Culver City Dub Collective.
