Lakers 109, Hornets 80 - Two of the hottest teams in the NBA met in New Orleans, but only one of them lived up to the billing. Los Angeles thumped the Hornets despite playing on back-to-back nights and New Orleans having several days of rest. Maybe they just got cold. The Lakers bench was key, outscoring the Hornet's reserves by 42-9. It was like the reverse of a USC game.
Magic 113, Clippers 106 - Hedo Turkoglu had 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists to help Orlando past the Clippers. Coach Mike Dunleavy got T'ed up twice in the third quarter and was ejected with 7:27 left in the period. Los Angeles has won two of their last ten and is last in the Pacific Division.
Ducks 5, Maple Leafs 0 - Jean-Sebastien Giguere's 27th career shutout tied a franchise record, but it wasn't his netminding that made the difference. Anaheim shared the wealth, with five different players scoring. Todd Bertuzzi was one of the Ducks to hit the back of the net and also had 2 assists.
Elsewhere - More from the pages of the Reggie Bush Book ... Is that a heater in your pants or are you just happy to see me? ... Speaking of heat, it seems like Miami teams this year are the opposite of Boston teams ... This just in, quarterbacks are really important to success. Still no explanation for Rex Grossman.
