So the Golden Globes got canceled and now maybe the Academy Awards will get canceled and this is conflicting me. On the one hand I will have a whole bunch more free time (hours upon hours) to watch my Tivo'd episodes of Grape Ape but I will have so much less lousy TV to rag on about. Not to be a dirty bastard, but the idea that an "award show industry" has sprung up in order to support this endless gladhanding and self-congratulatory industry and that the livelihoods of the people in this sub-service industry are suffering is troubling. But to see the countless hours of TV that is devoted to these award shows in lieu of an attempt to line up decent programming also causes a lot of suffering. It should all be boiled down to: the Oscars, the Grammys, the Tonys, and the Emmys. Cable is big enough to have an Awards Show Channel - anything other than the Big Four should be sent there.

9:00pm The Jewish Americans PBS/KCET - Premiere of Part I of III. I'm going to learn as much as I can so that I can so that I can wow the mom of this hot Jewish girl I've been after, as a Gentile I need as much ammo as I can get.

10:00pm Cashmere Mafia ABC - Series Premiere. Lucy Lieu's new vehicle about female executives.

10:00pm Project Runway BRAVO - The designers gotta come up with prom dresses.
