The Smoking Gun's New Feature

mugs15almondjoy.jpgOne of our favorite sites, The Smoking Gun, is featuring a new section this year.

Starting this week, the End of the Week Mugshot Cavalcade will feature the strangest of the strange, the wildest of the wild, and the stupidest of the stupid.

These aren't celebrity mugshots, which we will always hold close to our hearts.

These are photos of your average Joes (and Janes?) featuring freaky hairdos, piercings, ironic T-shirts, manic facial expressions and the general remnants of good times gone bad.

This week's theme involves nuts.

Because sometimes you feel like a nut, and as we can see by this guy's joyous expression, sometimes you don't.

A small sample of the Cavalcade awaits you after the jump

I can see why The Smoking Gun picked out this mugshot. But I didn't include it here just because his name is Goober.

Check out the background.

This station is so broke or backwater that they don't even have a poster to measure his height? Or a sheet to hang in the background?

It looks like this mugshot was taken in my uncle's rumpus room.

Are you guys even real cops?

Hey! That gun is made out of soap!

Well, if you don't want people to notice the moles, maybe you should think of something creative to distract them.

Yeah, that ought to do it.

In fact, I don't notice the moles at all.

But how did you cut such precise lines around the moles?

How did you keep from cutting the moles with the razor?

What? I said I didn't even notice the moles at all anymore.

mugs13owwwwmyweave.jpgOwwwwww! My weave!!!!!!

I wonder how many times the officer asked her to lift her head up for the picture before painfully yanking her head back by the hair.

In fact, unless that officer has a freakishly long and bendy arm, there are TWO officers wrestling with this woman.

Police brutality! Police brutality!

Attica! Attica!

My weave! My weave!
