Quentin Tarantino hosts a LACMA screening of South Korea's much-lauded film Secret Sunshine, which is about a young widower from the city of Seoul who moves to her late husband's rural hometown with their only child. "Jeon Do-youn, voted ‘best actress' at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, gives a remarkable performance as a fragile woman who faces daunting obstacles in her attempt to create a new life." The screening is to be follwed by a Q&A session with director Lee Chang-dong.

ART OPENING
Painter Karen Liebowitz's show Leviathan opens tonight at Rosamund Felsen's Bergamot Station gallery. Her work deals with "the vast spiritual and sexual implications of the biblical Leviathan, a gargantuan sea monster." Opening reception is tonight; the show runs until Feb. 9.

Celebrate actress Diane Keaton's birthday tonight by renting a couple of her greatest films. We suggest making a double feature by picking from some of her best work, like her 1977 Oscar-winning performance in Annie Hall, Manhattan, Something's Gotta Give, or The First Wives Club. If you can find your VCR and a place to rent VHS tapes, look for the overlooked Shoot the Moon and the phenomenal (and kitschy/disturbing) Looking For Mr. Goodbar, neither of which are out on DVD (for shame!).
