TV Junkie: Weekend Edition

I vaguely remember the '80s so the return of American Gladiator to the screen presents me with a nauseating wave of nostalgia that I want to boogie board to the fullest. Then again, I vaguely remember the '70s and the relaunch of the Bionic Woman left a lot to be desired. But hey, we live in America, and with enough boobies and violence, American Gladiator could have the required recipe for success.

Friday

8:00pm Flash Gordon SCIFI - Season Premiere.

9:00pm Three Days of the Condor TCM - (1975) If you like thrillers like The Bourne Identity check out this very original conspiracy flick starring Robert Redford, Faye Dunaway, Cliff Robertson, and many more. Way cool. TV Junkie 9:00pm Pick.

9:00pm How To Look Good Naked LIFETIME - Series Premiere. hosted by Carson Kressley. Lifetime is also premiering 3 other reality shows following HTLGN tonight so if you're in that "reality" mood as presented by the most flagrantly sexist channel on cable, check it out.

10:00pm Stargate Atlantis SCIFI - Season Premiere.

12:35am The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson CBS - Spock!!! Lyle Lovett, Dean Edwards. TV Junkie Late Night Pick.

Sunday

9:00pm The Wire HBO - Season Premiere. This is the 5th and final season. TV Junkie Pick O' The Night

9:00pm American Gladiators NBC - Series Resurrection and Premiere. More muscles and cleavage barely covered by Spandex. Hey, when will Congress investigate Gladiator doping?

[If all else fails on Sunday, there's always repeats of Robot Chicken at 11:30pm and Kenny vs Spenny at Midnight]

"the most flagrantly sexist channel on cable"

you forgot Spike.

I hope you appreciated the humor in that.

But actually, when you look at it, Lifetime might actually be more sexist than Spike. Spike seems much less like the channel of idealogues than Lifetime.
