<description>&lt;p&gt;Actually, there are three organized proponents of Proposition 91. First, you have Southern California Transit Advocates, who has created a &quot;yes on 91&quot; web site: http://www.yeson91.net (which a simple search would have found). Then you have the California Republican Assembly, the largest group of grassroots Republicans, and other Republican groups like the River City Republicans (of Sacramento).

The reason for the odd argument is a deal that the official proponents cut with the legislature after Prop 1A was placed on the ballot. They have to write the pro argument against the measure because that was part of the deal. That does not mean that no one is supporting the measure. I strongly encourage a YES vote because the Prop 1A loophole is going to cost Los Angeles County $62 million of transportation funding in the 2008-2009 budget. That&apos;s money that could go to fix our roads and bridges, or provide public transit. &lt;/p&gt;</description>
