R.I.P., Stu Nahan
Longtime LA sportscaster Stu Nahan passed away yesterday. He was 81.
Nahan spent time at KABC, KNBC, and KTLA over his broadcast career as well as several radio stations. He retired from the Dodger pre-game show on KFWB in 2004.
He also made a few appearances on the big screen, most notably as a boxing commentator in the Rocky series and interviewing Jeff Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (in the scene, Spicoli was dreaming of being a champion surfer).
Other accomplishments included a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a career as a minor-league hockey goalie.

I was at the Kings game last night and they had a moment of silence for him. The announcer dude got chocked up when describing him.

Stu sat with myself and another reporter at a Dodgers-Giants game in the ATT Park pressbox this past season. I can't remember the last time I've had as much fun at a baseball game...and I didn't get one thing written. Thank goodness it was a day game.
Thanks for your friendship, Stu.
