TV Junkie: The Day After Xmas

Five Easy PiecesI'm hoping you got a bunch of DVDs to tide you over during this dead week as well as until the writer's strike ends. It looks like TCM is running an "aviation in movies" marathon tonight and IFC's featuring Harvey Keitel. For further marathon action, check out BRAVO which is showing all of Project Runway's fourth season (starts at 6:00pm).

4:15pm Five Easy Pieces IFC - (1970) If you've got the day off like me, then make time for this movie. Stars Jack Nicholson and (the voluptuous) Karen Black. Jack's a former concert pianist (say that without a smirk), now a blue collar guy, who takes his waitress girlfriend to visit his hoity-toity parents. TV Junkie PIck O' The Day

8:00pm Wired Science PBS/KCET - Ok, this is nice, some good original programming to start the evening. Topics include: undersea vehicles; turning cotton balls into smokeless gunpowder; how they create perfect water for the movies. TV Junkie 8:00pm Pick.

9:00pm 30th Annual Kennedy Center Honors CBS - It's as if there's so many stinking awards shows that the government has to get in on the action. Honorees: Leon Fleischer, Steve Martin, Diana Ross, Martin Scorsese and Brian Wilson

9:00pm Funniest Commercials of the Year TBS - I don't really remember many funny ones from America but thankfully this program looks at commercials worldwide. Kevin Nealon hosts.
