Irving Thalberg building at Sony Pictures Studios lit up for the holidays

If you're not mall-ward bound, frantically baking fruitcake, cleaning house for arriving relatives, or headed to LAX, there are still plenty of things to do tonight in LA.

FILM
"Yippee Ki-yay, mother..." You get the idea. The Aero Theatre is showing a badass Christmastime double feature tonight. On the bill is the original Die Hard and 2003's Bad Santa, starring Billy Bob Thornton. Ah, the familiar holiday cinema classics.

7:30 p.m. // Aero Theatre // 1328 Montana Ave, Santa Monica // $10

THEATRE
Fred Racker's one man show, It Could Have Been a Wonderful Life, is centered on the query: "What if the classic movie "It’s A Wonderful Life" featured a Jewish family, the guardian angel was Jack Benny and it was set in Hollywood?" and has him playing all 25 characters. Oy vey!

8 p.m. // Two Roads Theatre // 4348 Tujunga Ave., Studio City // $25

COMMUNITY SPIRIT
Share a "sense of oneness and involvement in the community, a sense of everyone being an engaged, invaluable part of the whole" with your fellow Angelenos at an evening Candlelight Walk around Echo Park Lake organized by the Los Angeles Heart Project. 2007 was their year of focusing on the circulation of water, so a Winter Solstice stroll around the lake seems fitting. "Candles will be available for you to carry. If you would like to bring a small, closed container of the tap water from your home, we’ll include it as part of our ceremony."

4:30 p.m. // Echo Park Lake // 840 Echo Park Ave. // Free

ART
"Read Me! Text in Art" at the Armory Gallery in Pasadena looks at the use of words in art. "Contemporary urban life is wrapped in language. From the negotiation of public space to the forms of our innermost thoughts, words shape the world." The exhibit runs until February 22.

Noon-5 p.m. // Armory Gallery // 145 North Raymond Avenue, Pasadena // Free
