Pencil This In: Friday

Santa's at the Grove

You can't escape the holidays this weekend. No matter how hard you try. So wanna play? Go with the flow? Check these events out:

SING-ALONG: The Music Center’s annual Holiday Sing-Along happens tonight. Don't know the words? Songsheets will be provided. The singing takes place outside, so bundle up – or spike your personal egg nog stash.

6:30 pm // Music Center Plaza // 135 N. Grand Ave. // Free.

FILM: To get Westsiders in the holiday spirit, the Aero Theatre is screening a holiday double feature tonight: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase and A Christmas Story with the Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle.

7:30 pm // Aero Theatre // 1328 Montana Ave., Santa Monica // $10.

DANCE: Using Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon as its soundtrack, The Tres Stage tells a “fantasy” story through dance, movement and lighting. Bring your own Necco Wafers.

Midnight // The Tres Stage, 2nd Floor // 1523 N. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles // $12-$15.

THEATRE: Remember the Keaunu Reeves-Patrick Swayze surf drama Point Break? Well, how about a live, interactive version? It’s here – finally – Point Break Live! "Little hand says it's time to rock and roll!"

8 pm // Charlie O’s at the Alexandria Hotel // 501 S. Spring St., Los Angeles // $20.
