Pencil This In: Wednesday

We leaf through various calendars so you don't have to.

Lucy and Schroeder at the Falcon Theatre

HOLIDAY FUN: The folks at the Troubadour Theater Company who brought us It's a Stevie Wonderful Christmas and Fleetwood MacBeth are back with A Charlie James Brown Christmas. The show features Charlie Brown singing "It's a Man's Man's World" or maybe James Brown singing "Christmas Time is Here." Or maybe it's both?

8 pm // Falcon Theatre // 4252 Riverside Drive, Los Angeles // $20-$37.50.

THEATRE: Ralphie Parker wants one thing for Christmas: “A genuine, authentic, Red Ryder Air Rifle, with a compass and this thing that tells time built right into the stock.” Will he get it? Will Ralphie shoot his eye out? Will Ralphie become a card-carrying member of the NRA? (Sorry, our add.) The classic movie A Christmas Story gets translated for the stage in Old Town Newhall.

7 pm // Canyon Theatre Guild // 24242 Main St., Newhall // $11-$14 juniors/seniors and $14-$17 for adults.

FILM: Julie Delpy fans should head over to the New Beverly Cinema tonight for some big screen action with their girl. The double bill features 2 Days in Paris, which Delpy wrote, directed and starred in -- about a couple returning to Paris to rekindle their flailing relationship. Then stay for Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise that features Delpy and a not-too-annoying Ethan Hawke in a 24-hour talkfest as they bound around in Europe.

7 pm // New Beverly Cinema // 7165 W Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles // $7.

DRINKS: Wednesday nights are for "Broads on a Bender" at whiskey bar Seven Grand. That means $4 Maker's Mark for the ladies with "chick bands" playing at 9:30 pm.

4 pm pub hour // Seven Grand // 515 West 7th St., 2nd Floor, Los Angeles.
