<description>&lt;p&gt;This is a great picture!  The story of Venice is fascinating, and also sad.  I often teach a short excerpt in one of my classes called &quot;Slum by the Sea&quot; by Lawrence Lipton about Venice in the 1950s.  What&apos;s also fascinating about Venice&apos;s bad rap at that time was that it led to skateboarding culture as we know it today.  &lt;/p&gt;</description>
