Like the dissonance of the stale beer / frat atmosphere and Tori.

Welcome back!!! I understand about feeling naked without a camera. When I realize I don't have a spare card or battery, I have to remind myself that I can actually enjoy a concert without a camera. It's kind of a relief sometimes.

I've never seen Tori, but if she gets any weirder, I just might have to.

"...a reminder of why maybe it was better 10 years ago when straight guys didn't come to Tori shows."

Yeah, cuz only straight guys can be assholes...

It was only my second Tori show, and my first seeing her play with a band, and I loved it. For a 2+ hour long set, it sure flew by all too quickly.

And I was amazed at what a well designed and thought-out venue the Nokia Theater was. I'll be looking forward to many more shows there.

You summed up the "Tori fans all grown up" feeling nicely. I definitely felt the same way, having seen her an equally insane amount of times since Under the Pink...
I was also impressed that at a Tori Amos concert of all places, I never had to wait in line to use the bathroom. That counts for something!
But lack of enthusiasm? I totally disagree. I left feeling so sad that no one else these days will come out and play over 2 hours anymore. She poured everything into it- she was great and full of energy, the band was awesome, and the set and lighting was beautiful. Maybe it wasnt the most intimate show, but thats always the first thing to be sacrificed at a large venue. I thought it was great.

I was actually at that Good Morning America show as well, how weird. By Bethesda fountain, right?

Well, last night was good. A very solid, amazing show. But WOWZA, I wish you had seen the Anaheim show the night before. It was by far one of the best Tori shows I've seen EVER. Incredibly powerful, intense, fantastic. Hard to explain why, it was just nuts.

I thought in general she is in excellent form last night and her playing with the band was some of the best I've heard from her. I didn't feel she was slowing down, if anything this is way higher intensity work than I've seen from her since the olden days of the mid 90s.
