It's all clearly delineated within the italics beneath every photo within every list: 1. I saw this artist within the last year. 2. They're some of my favorite musicians 3. I admire them and consequently I felt compelled to see what "captivated them in '07," regardless of whether or not it was actually released this past year.

I'm sure in a few circles, that may actually be considered a "clever response". It would have been shorter just to type, "yes".

But I still want to know where you find these bands and the criteria.

Yes, I head over to my local homeless shelter and corral the most disheveled looking persons up. Then, I ask them if they'll pose together in front of whatever was given to the homeless shelter that day. In this particular case, it happened to be a bunch of inflatable balloons that spelled out Castledoor, the fictitious, spur-of-the-moment name I conjured for this motley group of "derelicts". It's an art form that most people can't wholly comprehend, but you seem to have figured it all out to the best of your abilities. You little sleuth you!

Where do you find these bands? I mean, is the criteria is that they look like they bathe once a month? I'm sorry, it's just that I'll scroll down and see the bands and want to throw a dollar bill at them or help get them into a shelter. Is Homeless Chic the new hipster look? Derelicte indeed.
