I listed the ones on the flyer (that I had heard of) who had been left out of the LAist post. And you, just as I, expected the people listed on a flyer to wave to the crowd. In fact, I wrote it that way to explicitly mock the entire event. Mocking, a lot different than hyping. Personally, I'm John Edwards guy.

It's not about selling out the arena. 5,000 showing up for a candidate in a primary election is really damn impressive. If any other candidate could get that many people in a room, they would. Think of it this way, 5,000 people showed up DESPITE the Goo Goo Dolls.

i guess i should have specified '06 Jovi, not '80s Jovi. it was more of an insult than it came across as being, i suppose. and yes, i agree, if they had booked a real band to play they woulda sold out the place. how on earth can Marilyn Mason pack that place but not the Great Black Hope?

Great photos. Didn't really hear the Jovi-ness from the Goo Crew, thought the dude was fantasizing about Neil Diamond or Eric Bachmann of Archers of Loaf/Crooked Fingers. I kept thinking they might have filled the place if not for the mismatch of horrible opening bands. I mean nearly 30,000 one day with Oprah and the next, only a 3/4 full 6,000 seat theater?
