Itching to get out to the latest restaurant or coolest foodie event this weekend? Here's a quick round-up of where to eat this weekend that will have you talking all week.
- Find out what's going on with LA Mill's soft opening -- this coffee boutique planned for a Silver Lake location has testing out its goods at a clothing store in West Hollywood, but the owners are very tight-lipped about the next steps -- not to mention about their plans for a new Providence outpost. We'll watch this one.
- Want to get some great ideas for tasty holiday gifts while you indulge in a sophisticated chocolate-tasting adventure? Check out the Los Angeles Luxury Chocolate Salon in Pasadena -- the price of admission gets you free chocolate and wine.
- If all that chocolate makes you long for real sustenance, check out Pasadena's newest hidden gem, Green Street Tavern, for a sophisticated meal.
- Canadian import Terroni, on Beverly and Curson, might be a good alternate to Mozza Pizzeria if you're not up for the wait -- although early reports have the place bustling just as much as its pizza-centric rival.
- Bastide is now open, and garnering raves from S. Irene, JGold, and the like. The menu looks cryptic, but the dishes look divine: octopus ceviche, suckling pig, and monkfish.
- If the idea of fish is hitting you just right, go check out some of this menu porn, from Joachim Splichal's new spot, Paperfish, located in Beverly Hills.
- If you want to cook up your own four-star meal this weekend -- or maybe just wander around a market dreaming about four-star meals that you might cook had you time or talent -- there's always that shiny new Whole Foods in Pasadena, as well as Farm Boy in Culver City.
- And sorry, JGold groupies, but we hear that Tuesday night's Zocalo event with Jonathan Gold is pretty booked up -- although if you're really hardcore, you can show up early and wait in the "maybe" line. I reserved my spot but will be unable to attend -- so if you're lucky you can snake my spot!
