<description>&lt;p&gt;Very similar to my family&apos;s recipe.

There was this little place in Rosemead where we would always grab our masa when I lived in El Monte.  There&apos;s no shame in buying prepared masa!  Since moving Downtown, I&apos;ve heard there&apos;s a good place in East LA or Boyle Heights that&apos;s known for its great masa.

Also, my general recommendation is to be sure to add more (fresh) garlic than you would normally think necessary; the masa soaks it up.  Same goes for salt, pepper, and red sauce in the shredded meat.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
