StumbleUpon is one of several Web 2.0 properties experiencing a surge in activity that could be related to the WGA strike.

Evidently the lack of new programming on TV, particularly late night, is causing a surge of activity online, a measurable increase that page ranker/social networking site StumbleUpon. It makes one wonder what will happen if/when the WGA strike starts to affect more and more primetime shows? My conversation with StumbleUpon's Vice President of Marketing, Dave Feller, revealed that they are enjoying this ride (and will hopefully be "enjoying" the Director's and Actor's Guild strikes next year).

Feller did answer several questions for us, including:

Q: How involved is eBay with StumbleUpon after they acquired the company back in May for $75,000,000? A: StumbleUpon operates with self-determination within eBay

Q: Are there plans for StumbleUpon to hook up with a media conglomerate, or another such partner to provide a cobranded interface or site specific version of StumbleUpon? A: Nothing like this is in the works but you can use at tool within StumbleUpon called StumbleThrough that works specifically on certain site like Flickr, the BBC, Wikipedia, etc.

Q: Can I Stumble from my iPhone? A: Not now but in 2008 you will.
