UCLA and USC really do take their rivalry pretty seriously, huh As far as coverage on laist, there is a substantial UCLA slant... even a little snobbery. Eh, who cares.

i'm a huge trojan fan and not at all a fan of ucla but.... who really cares if there is more coverage about ucla on this site. i don't even know if that's true, but even if it is, look at pretty much every other media outlet in southern ca and you'll see that it's heavily biased towards usc. sometimes it's nice to see a change of pace.

Please put the swords away. My initial post should just have said, "Carrie, a little crow in order?" and left it at that. My apologies. I like the sports coverage here, don't care about any imbalance if one even exists, and just figured that the big interschool rivalry game would be featured here as an LA event, not mentioned briefly as the backstory behind Karl Dorrell's firing, particulary after the level of trash talk. You could have just said, "Still better looking, smarter, and less racist--worse at football."

Yup, Dorrell definitely had to go. His .580 winning percentage is completely unacceptable, given the Bruins' all-time winning percentage of .594. What a bum.

funny stuff, given that there are far more trojans writing for laist than bruins, including the one who writes the "weekend sports" wrap you are calling out. this is an open community here, trash talk is certainly welcomed, and usc fans have earned the right to crow about stomping ucla again. but like carrie said, put up or shut up. but since we're so pro-ucla here anyway, i think i'll get another post queued up on karl dorrell just for effect.

Carrie, I just love how we get two UCLA posts over the weekend, with the ubiquitous USC bashing that defines so many UCLA grads (nothing says "secure in yourself" like the need to incessantly harp on others), no post on 1) USC again creaming UCLA or 2) UCLA's #1 ranked basketball team losing at home. Where's the "weekend sports" wrap? Can't wait to hear how your UCLA "better-at-EVERY-sport" Bruins fared.
