Sunday Photoist: Inside UCLA Radio

Every so often when we feel so inspired to do so, we feature a photo from a photographer in the LAist Flickr Pool. It's another way of giving the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention that they deserve.

Inside UCLA Radio

Everyone knows Santa Monica College has a radio station (KCRW 89.9). And CSUN (KCSN 88.5) and CSULB (KJAZZ 88.1) too. Even Pasadena City College (KPCC 89.3) and USC (KUSC 91.5) have theirs. Where is UCLA's? We never knew... until now. General Manager, Laura Katz, explains:

This picture is of the band Eulogies, on Dangerbird Records, from when they stopped by my show, Automatic Stapler, on UCLAradio.com, UCLA's student-run radio station. UCLAradio.com has a variety of programming, including music, news, and sports. Plus, we pretty much have excellent giveaways ALL the time.

My co-host and I try to get a guest in every week, musical or otherwise. We love Eulogies, especially because they, in one form or another, have stopped by three times--our most frequent guests. Other past guests include Sondre Lerche, Keith of The 88, The Parson Redheads, Rhett Miller, Andrew & Luke Wilson, Maritime, Pigeon John, and numerous others. Each week's music revolves around a theme and we try to keep it very eclectic. Check out my show Wednesdays 4-6pm (until 12/12, Tuesdays 4-6pm in 2008)!
