List of Malibu Homes Harmed by Today's Fires

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

Many of us have friends who live in Malibu and are worried about them and their families and their pets and their neighbors. Although it's pretty safe to say that most of the people are ok, if you would like to see if their home is ok - or if you live in Malibu and you're traveling for Thanksgiving, and you would like to see if your home is all right - the City of Malibu has provided this .PDF report, which we assume will be updated. So far 51 homes have been destroyed.

Of course there are some disclaimers:

The attached list was provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. City staff has not yet verified the location and extent of damage. Fire Department Disclaimer: The attached information regarding damaged and destroyed properties is a preliminary list of addresses based on our first damage assessment survey. We have strived to provide the most accurate information possible, but please note that this information is subject to change after subsequent, more detailed surveys can be completed. In the absence of a viable property address, we have listed the best possible description of the property that has been damaged/destroyed.

via
Malibu-CA.gov, hat tip CurbedLA.Update: it appears that the City of Malibu has abandoned the .PDF format and is now putting the info on an web page. Smart choice, HTML forever.
