Lakers - The Lakers punished Detroit with 41 points in the 4th-quarter on Friday. Six Lakers hit double-digits in the game. They stayed hot through Sunday, when they destroyed Chicago 106-78. Five reserves hit double-digits on that night, and the bench outscored the starters 73-33. The Bull's bench, by comparison, had 31.
Clippers - With their full roster back, the Warriors put together a 122-105 drubbing of the Clippers on Friday. The Clippers fell again on Saturday, 92-73 against Chicago.
Ducks - Anaheim beat San Jose in a shoot-out on Saturday to draw within two points of the Sharks atop the Pacific. The game was the second straight shoot-out victory over their division foe. Things were heated the entire way, with ongoing scraps, each team down to three skaters during one part of OT, and another fight before the shoot-out. Final score: 2-1.
Kings - Los Angeles was shut-out 1-0 on Saturday by former Duck's backup Ilya Bryzgalov. The goalie was claimed off of waivers by Phoenix earlier that day and was on the ice just hours later.
Elsewhere - Remember those Oscar de la Hoya photos? They're not only real, they're the subject of a ginormous lawsuit. The best part? The photographer worked at a strip club and insists that this incident damaged her public reputation ... In another bizarre twist to this year's college football season, the highest paid coach lost to the lowest paid coach in all of NCAA D-1 ... If it doesn't pan out here, he can always coach in Mexico.
