I think part of Gold&apos;s message is that it is not just about saying, &quot;This is good. Eat here.&quot; It is about entertaining the reader. His beautiful prose and ability to give the reader vicarious sensory experiences are what sets him apart.

<description>&lt;p&gt;jonathan gold..ugh, so many times i&apos;ll go to places he&apos;s recommended and they are so bland. i don&apos;t get it. I don&apos;t get his hyped up restaurants.
esp the one on fig and 26th. taquiria? apparently there is some obsession with potato pancakes there. i ordered 4 but only ate 2 bc there was nothing tasty or different, unlike gold&apos;s rave review.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
