Zach, great work!

City Council, horrible work!

How can you cash a pay check every two weeks (a big one) and not know the neighborhoods that you represent?

This is way more than not knowing about the blue signs - those neighborhoods mean something. Especially if it's your job to look out for the people in those hoods.

The Council has left themselves wide open to losing their next election if they dont remedy this situation immediately because all anyone has to do to basically disqualify any incumbent is to say

"I KNOW THE NEIGHBORHOODS THAT I AM ASKING TO REPRESENT AND THE INCUMBENT DOESNT - HERE ARE MY MAPS OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS OF THE PEOPLE WHO I RESPECT ENOUGH TO WORK FOR - WHERE ARE THE COUNCILMEMBERS' MAPS?"

It is such a nightmare, with so many different types of zoning maps and Business District maps and community redevelopment maps overlayed one atop the other.

The other day we whizzed past a sign, and I knew for a fact that the neighborhood is not on the list I drew up. Unfortunately, I was not driving, it was late, and my friends are getting fed up with me making them pull over so I can take pictures of things on the street.

I have spent so much time calling and emailing the city council, neighbor councils, public works, DOT, etc. and my impression now is that this was somebody's cute little "pet project." Let the neighborhoods become "official." It will give them civic pride. But no one chose to compile and utilize the data once the signs were ordered. It's lost in the bureaucratic jungle.
