While the fundamentalist Christian terrorists may not have shed as much blood as their Muslim counterparts, I think the comparison is fair. What's the term? American Taliban? The two have a lot in common, including their attitudes towards killing for their cause, treatment of women, hatred of homosexuals and desire for the merging of church and state. No, I'd say the comparison is completely fair.

Miss Pauline's outrage at this latest instance of racial profiling is understandable. As is its denouncement by all parties as racist and unconstructive. But her comparison of U.S. christian radicals to their worldwide Islamist counterparts is a non-sequitur. The violent acts of a few fringe evangelicals, while alarming and sad, simply do not hold a votive candle to the width and breadth of a contemporary Muslim world aflame with the fundamentalist movement. Remember, adherents to the Qu'ran hate homosexuals and abortion clinics just like Evangelicals do -- and they number millions more.
