When I did this several months ago, I paid only $50! And that was on the high-end of the scale... other dinners in the area were going for $40-45. I guess the demand is there, so the prices can keep going up, but I can get a much better meal at a restaurant for less than that.

Jeremy's gettin' greedy...

60 dollars and bring your own booze is one thing, but then they actually put out tip envelopes at a "dinner"? Do they hire professional waiters? The tip should be included in that kind of event.

The menu sounds so interesting, this event almost had me, until all of the elaborate ice breakers and the line " Townsend spoke at length about the origins of Ghetto Gourmet..."

This reminds me of the old days of Playfood at Taran Noah Smith's house before it got shut down by the foodie officials.

However, since Ghetto Gourmet is roving and clandestine in nature, they probably will never get caught, yay!

Ghetto gourmet is having a party at your friend's downtown warehouse because the cops won't come out there and it's free.

$60? Eeeesh. You got the gourmet part right, but not the ghetto.
