Today is Veteran's Day

Arlington West memorial in Santa MonicaTomorrow may be the day we observe today's holiday, yet today our local newspapers honor the men and women of the past and present who have fought for us. Here are their stories:

Today's LA Times story about the "Marlboro Marine" also needs to be mentioned. The print edition features it much more prominently then the LAT site.

It would be nice to see the LA blogs giving some attention to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, considering that more military personnel from California have been killed there than from any other state.

Thanks for mentioning Veterans Day. I have many relatives who have served in the military and fought in wars. I have two cousins in Iraq now.
