WeHo's First Gold LEED Homes

709 and 711 Westbourne St. in West Hollywood - The Positive Energy CondominiaAs WIRED shows off their high tech, low impact home this weekend to the touring public, two homes in West Hollywood make their debut tomorrow to the buying public. The Positive Energy Condominia at 709 and 711 Westbourne St. in West Hollywood. The first Gold LEED certified buildings in WeHo have countless energy saving features such as insulation, energy efficient lighting and daylighting, air filtration systems, non-VOC paints and finishes, and the use of recycled materials.

The homes are indeed "eco-luxury" with their bamboo floors, Bosch stainless steel appliances, high-end plumbing fixtures, Italian cabinetry, and pre-wired for CAT5, WiFi, alarm and a central audio system. And luxury comes at a cost: about $1.9 million for one of the two units being sold starting tomorrow.

Who would want to live there? Us, for one. The townhomes are definitely for a couple without kids. The master bedroom and bathroom are both open with no doors for privacy from view or sound. It's ultra contemporary, yet ultra hip and still feels like home. And those pristine white bamboo floors, so wicked.

The Positive Energy Condominia will have its open house tomorrow from 2 to 5 p.m.
