LAst Night's Action: Clippers Ahead of Pace(rs)
Clippers 104, Pacers 89 - Like some other teams in LA, the Clippers are starting to revolve around one star (cough ... Lakers ... cough ... Galaxy). Unlike other teams, it's just temporary. Sam Cassell had 35 points, as Cuttino Mobley and Ruben Patterson were injured in the first quarter. Elton Brand and Shaun Livingston were already out hurt. What didn't hurt were Chris Kaman's 15 points and 22 rebounds ... Somehow the Clippers are 4-0 this season, and are making a good case that they may be the best team in town.
Coyotes 6, Ducks 5, OT - Anaheim could really use Teemu Selanne and Scott Niedermayer right about now. The two veterans haven't decided whether or not to retire, but haven't laced up their skates this season. That might be helpful now that it's, oh, I don't know, 17 games into the season. In the interim, the team is 6-8-3. On Wednesday, they dropped a high-scoring contest in the final seconds of overtime.
Elsewhere - Russell Martin won a Gold Glove Award (Jimmy had better be celebrating somehow) ... London's new Olympic Stadium plans are out ... If LA had an NFL team, they probably would have lost this weekend ... A-Rod is moving into a new place in Miami. He may need a place to crash in the Southland, too.
Today's Action - None we're aware of.
