Replace 'Please' with Fast & 'Thank you' with Good

Kelsey Brookes painting from the upcoming show, Replace 'Please' with Fast & 'Thank you' with Good

Tonight over at Lab 101 in Culver City there's a group show opening that should be really rad. It features Kelsey Brookes, Anthony Lister, and Kill Pixie. Kelsey Brookes, who's image you see above, was studying to be a scientist, but now spends his times illustrating and painting. He's been featured in the Vans Sky Gallery, and has done t-shirts for brands like RVCA. He'll also be releasing a new print tonight, so if you dig his style, be sure to check it out.

Anthony Lister is an Australian painter who works in a very loose painting style, often portraying odd mash-ups of distorted superheroes. Kill Pixie, aka Mark Whalen, uses a ton of pastel colors in his attempt at creating an urban version of folk art. Very abstract, but beautifully colored. They also have some pretty rad looking sculptures on exhibit as well.

The opening goes from 7-10pm tonight, and the show runs until November 28th.
It's also Lab 101's 3rd anniversary, so be sure to wish them a happy anniversary!
